“Fashion Through the Decades”
June 17-25, 2017
On June 17, 2017 the museum hosted an open house highlighting our extensive clothing collection. The inspiration for this exhibit came from the celebration of Canada 150. Although the Alix Wagon Wheel Museum does not carry clothing that are 150 years old, we decided to feature the articles we do have in our collection dating back to the 1890’s. To create an overall theme for the style of clothing we chose weddings. This gave us the ability to highlight some of our fancier outfits, including a wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, and tuxedo.
“Skills of the Past”
2014
The Museum hosted various events such as rope making, butter churning, wool spinning, and hosted Dr. Chris Jensen as he demonstrated how to make a wagon wheel from scratch.
