Alberta’s Golden Jubilee at Clive – 1955 – by Iona (Knutson) Thomas
In August. 1955, Clive had a Sports Day to celebrate Alberta’s Golden Jubilee. There were races, baseball, and all the usual sorts activities, with a buffalo beef barbecue in the evening to conclude the day.
There was a presentation of scrolls to all persons who had come to Alberta before 1905, and who still resided in Alberta in 1955. My father, William O. Knutson, received one of the scrolls.
